Teaching Practice

4.1 Procedures of teaching

I follow procedure teaching carried out by my cooperating teacher, the procedure is:

1. Pray

2. Unfreezing (I give them the video for energizer, they will follow the step dance on the video)

3. Checking assignment

4. Provide word drill to students

5. Review the material that was last taught to students

6. Provide motivation to students regarding the material that will be teach today

7. Organize classes in 5 groups

8. Provide the activity group that will be discussed and then presented by each group

9. Give students new topic material

10. Reviewing student knowledge

11. Provide individual activity to students

12. Give a quiz

13. Give students assignments about the next topic

14. Closing class

4.2 Time Management and Organizing Activities

For time management i use the watch to show me how much time I spend. 15 minutes to pray, checking of assignments, word drill, review for material presentations by each group 5 minutes, 25 minutes of learning about new material, 15 for quizzes, individual activities and closing classes. The total teaching hours in the internship are 20 hours of teaching and help.

4.3 Problem-Solving

The problem in ISAT U - Laboratory school that I faced in 7th grade was that those who sat in the back were very happy to tell stories, sometimes I rebuked them and they would come back to listening to the material being discussed. For this reason, when I teach, I will always ask their opinion about the material being taught or I have them present the results of their group discussions. So that those who sit behind start listening to learning material.

4.4 Classroom Management

In grade 7 I taught there were 50 students, when I taught in class I divided them into 5 groups. In order for them to be more comfortable and easy to understand the material, I will usually give the picture they will discuss. And will present the results of each group's discussion. They like it, sometimes I give them jokes so the class isn't too tense or sometimes someone asks about Indonesian.
